New houses for dogs
Ten years ago a Dutch fund-raising group donated wooden outdoor shelters for the galgos. They use them to take cover from the rain, snow and sun.
They do go inside the main building at night to bed. These shelters are now dilapidated.
We need at least 6 brick built and insulated shelters as shown in the diagram.
The estimated cost for all 6 is €25,000.
This includes cement, walls (with run-off), roofing, insulation, waterproofing (internal as well to ensure ease of cleaning) and plastic doors.
Labour is extra. The fund-raising for this project is being shared between the European groups active for Scooby, all donations are gratefully received.
Thanks to fund-raising from a Dutch and Swiss group, we have €3,333 towards the project.
These outdoor shelters are so important to provide cover from the elements in scorching summers and harsh winters.During warm Spanish nights, some of the dogs sleep in them.
They offer retreat for the nervous galgos who go into them for respite when new, unknown volunteers arrive to clean their run.
